Tylimanthus diversifolius is a common
wet forest to rainforest species which mostly grows as an epiphyte
or on logs. The leaf cells have numerous brown oil bodies and
distinct trigones. In the field,
Tylimanthus tenellus is
very similar but this species tends to be brighter yellow (young
shoots) and the larger leaf lobe tends to be blunt rather than
tapered to a point in T. diversifolius. Microscopically, the
leaf cells of T. tenellus also lack trigones.
