Acrobolbus spinifolius (Acrobolbaceae)

Previously thought to occur only in New Zealand, Acrobolbus spinifolius has only recently been recorded in Tasmania. The species may be quite uncommon, having being collected from only a few localities. The leaves are lobed and the margins have small spine-like teeth.

A. spinifolius resemble Tylimanthus tenellus but is much smaller and have little or no stem cortex cells, whereas Tylimanthus has 2-3 layers of well defined cortex cells.
