| Tasmania
has two native species of Prostanthera. Both species
are distinctly aromatic and are known as mintbushes. P.
lasianthos (christmas mintbush) is a common wet forest
shrub or small tree. It has leaves about 4-8 cm long.
P. rotundifolia (roundleaf mintbush) is a rare shrub
found in the north and east and has leaves less than 1 cm
long. A third species, P. cuneata, is
considered to be extinct from Tasmania. |
