| Nothofagus gunnii (Nothofagaceae)

| Nothofagus
gunnii (deciduous beech or fagus) is Tasmania's only
winter deciduous species. It is a major component of
subalpine rainforest and alpine conifer heath. It has small
(generally <2 cm long), light green, alternate leaves.
The veins lead to the gaps between the round teeth, and the
leaf lamina bulges up between the major veins. |
