| Tasmania
has
four native species of Glycine. Glycine
clandestina is reasonably common climbing plant with
elongate leaflets. The other two species are rare east coast
species. G. latrobeana has clover-like leaves. G.
microphylla has small, somewhat elongated leaflets and
is a climber. Distinctive features of the Tasmanian species
include the backward directed hairs on the stems and the
stipules. Glycine is a worldwide genus that includes
soy beans.
