Genista
is a genus of broom-like shrubs. Three species have
become naturalised in Tasmania, but only G.
monspessulana (canary broom) is widespread and
abundant.
A hybrid (Genista x spachiana) which closely
resembles G. stenopetala has become naturalised in a
few places.
