Hibbertia
rufa (brown guineaflower) is a small, low-growing
shrub with pubescent branches and sessile, bright yellow
flowers. This very rare native species is found in the
north-east of Tasmania. The distinctive feature is the
leaves ending in a small tuft of hairs. It was thought
extinct in Tasmania until rediscovery in late 2008.
