Crassula
alata is a delicate, erect annual, which has
become widely naturalised in Tasmania, mainly in the gravel
beside roads and highways and in similar environments. It is
up to 6 cm high, has leaves up to about 4 mm long and 0.8 mm
wide, which are flat above and convex below. Flowers are
grouped in the axils of leaf-like bracts. The flowers have
three cream petals and three sepals.
A distinguishing feature are the prominent ridges on the
stems, which give it its common name, winged crassula
