Bassia (Amaranthaceae) Not in the Students Flora One species of Bassia (B. scoparia) has been recorded in Tasmania, on the northwest coast. However it is not considered to be naturalised. It is a large, erect annual (up to 1 m tall) that occurs in dry places. It is a garden escape.
