Euchiton sphaericus is a reasonably common annual native species from lowland areas, especially in dry or disturbed sites.  It has erect stems. The flowering stems are woolly, erect and have groups of flower heads at the ends. The leaves are thinnish and often wrinkled along the edges, green above (occasionally with some white hairs) and woolly below. The heads are in groups surrounded by three or more leaves, some of which spread widely from the inflorescence. It is often confused with E. involucratus, which has less elongated flower heads, and occurs in wetter, often swampy places.
