Craspedia (Asteraceae) 2:346 |
|
 |
| Tasmania
has eight species of Craspedia (billybuttons), six
of which are endemic. These native rosette herbs occur
in a wide range of habitats, particularly grasslands, grassy
woodlands and alpine areas. The obvious feature of this
genus is the largish, almost spherical flower head, set on a
long stalk bearing a few small leaves. The flower head is,
in fact, made up of many smaller heads packed closely so
that they seem to be a single head. |
