Scapisenecio albogilvus, an endemic, is a reasonably
widespread native alpine herb, especially on the dolerite
mountains. It grows on quite wet, peaty soils. It is related
to S. pectinatus
and S.
leptocarpus, but has entire or almost entire
leaves a few cm long and heads with white ray flowers. The
leaves are usually in rosettes, but the plant also often has
low growing leafy stems which are sometimes slightly woody. |
