Cotula alpina is a common native herb in wet places,
including the alpine zone. It is a stoloniferous, glabrous
perennial herb.
The leaves are about 3cm long and about 5mm wide, and are
divided almost to the midrib into narrow lobes (sometimes
twice divided).
The heads are about 4 mm in diameter, with pale yellow tube
flowers. A characteristic features is the scape (the stalk
holding the head). It is hollow, quite thick and shorter
than the leaves at flowering (although elongating by the
time of fruiting). |
