Polyscias (Araliaceae)  (not in The Student's Flora)
Both native and introduced populations of Polyscias occur in Tasmania. These are shrubs that grow in the understorey of wet or damp forests. The native populations are rare, and grow in wet forests in a few localities near the east coast. They have toothed and lobed leaflets. They probably represent a new species which, until taxonomic research is complete, has been given the name Polyscias sp. Douglas-Denison.

Garden grown plants of mainland Australian provenance of Polyscias sambucifolia have become naturalised in a few places.
